my youngest son came up to me as I was painting the other other day and said:
"mom, I want to paint with you...
you don't have to teach me, I just want to paint next to you."
I looked at him and smiled and said:
"I'm using oils."
"it's ok. I want to paint." he said.
so with big smiles we sat side by side
and we painted.....
5 x 5 oil on panel - mason age 9
his reminds me of the giving tree.
...and the mother was happy. :)

That is so precious! You are very blessed.
Great painting!
both your pieces are great. Such a sweet moment. Thanks for sharing this.
I love the contrast in the thistle, it appears illuminated against the black! I really like the simplicity of the tree. Nice work!!
Fabulous thistle painting, Tracie. It just jumps to life from that black background. I love Mason's tree too! What a great job and good to see the genetic trait continues!
Oh my goodness! How sweet!
I know that feeling. I have experienced it with my children... and it is good! So are your paintings :)
